In addition to college scholarship offers, Freida Rousseau was offered an opportunity to play with the All-American Red Heads, an Arkansas-based barnstorming women's team that played at the same venues as the Harlem Globetrotters from 1936 to 1986.

Freida Rousseau Altman led the Tulia Hornettes to back-to-back state 3A titles in 1966 and 1967.

A three-time all-stater, Altman set five state records, including 52 points in the state title game and 99 points over two games. The 52 points was a 3A school record, which got her pictured in Sports Illustrated. She finished her career with 3,798 points.

Altman played on the winning North team in the North-South All-Star Game in Duncanville after her senior year.

She also excelled in track, winning the state high jump at 5-7 as a senior. She participated in the high jump and 440 and 880 relays three times.

In addition to college scholarship offers, Freida Rousseau was offered an opportunity to play with the All-American Red Heads, an Arkansas-based barnstorming women’s team that played at the same venues as the Harlem Globetrotters from 1936 to 1986. She declined more than a dozen offers and opted to forego college and get married.

In May 2007, she was inducted into the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches Hall of Fame in San Antonio.

Altman died at age 60 in 2009.
