Harold Gene Wardlaw 74, lovingly called “Hal” by his family and friends, passed away Saturday, April 29th 2017, following a hard fought battle with Alzheimer’s. He was born to Virginia and Glenn Wardlaw of Hale Center, Texas on August 30th 1942.  He was a graduate of Hale Center High School and Harden Simmons University, where he played football. He married Mary Lon Cross Wardlaw of Plainview, Texas in 1964. Together they moved to Amarillo, Texas in 1973. While working for GMAC, because of his passion for sports,  Hal partnered with Allen Robertson and Dan Lynch and traveled to Dallas Texas to learn about the game of soccer and help expand Kids Incorporated.

His family has graciously decided in lieu of flowers, for donations to be made to Kids, Incorporated. To make a donation, please send a check or money order to:

My child has yet to make a soccer goal, yet he is making and passing on the goals we have set for him as parents. And what is life without goals?
