Amarillo High 1992 Football Team
The 1992 Amarillo High football team made the longest playoff run since the schools previous state championship in 1964. The 1992 Sandies reached the Class 5A state semifinals.
To get there, the Sandies beat Odessa Permian 10-7 in the state quarterfinals. Odessa Permian had given the Sandies their one and only regular season loss in week two of the season.
