Benjamin azamati - track athlete of the year 2021
Benjamin Azamati - West Texas A&M University
Why Honored: 2021 was a major year for Azamati. During the indoor season, he brought home the NCAA Division II National Championship title in the men's 60 meter dash.
The outdoor season was equally, if not more, successful for Azamati. He once again found himself competing on the national stage and brought home individual titles in the 100 meter run and 200 meter run. Azamati recorded the five fastest 100 meter times in DII history. He helped lead the Buffs to a second place finish at the national championship as a team.
Azamati was named the Lone Star Conference and U.S Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association division two men's track athlete of the year.
