Why Honored: Kitten’s 1992 team was the first Hereford High School volleyball team to reach the state tournament. Her 1996 team was the first to win state.
After two rough seasons, Kitten guided the Lady Whitefaces to five state championships, three other state tournament appearances, 13 district titles, and a 618-234 record in 24 years.
Kitten’s ’85 and ’86 teams had rough debuts, but by 1992, her Lady Whitefaces won regional and qualified for the state tournament. The next year they won state.
