Why Honored: Sherwood was a standout quarterback at Panhandle. He finished his career with 5,487 yards and 64 touchdown passes. In 2002 alone, he completed 118 of 226 passes.
Sherwood was named second team Class 2A all-state and first team all-West Texas by TexasPrepXtra.com. He was also named the Amarillo Globe-News Super Team Offensive Player of the Year and the KGNC Radio/Sonic Scholar Athlete of the Year.
