Bob Schneider - Canyon & West Texas A&M University
Why Honored: Schneider spent 43 years as a coach, with many years spent at both Canyon High School and WT as head basketball coach for the girls' programs.
While at Canyon, Schneider led the Lady Eagles to state runner-up titles in 1970, 1971, 1973, 1975, and 1976 and state championship titles in 1969, 1972, 1974, 1977, and 1978.
Over his 25 years at WT, Schneider posted an astounding record of 1,045-293. Schneider's Lady Buffs won nine conference titles, including eight Lone Star Conference banners, reached the NCAA Division II Elite Eight twice, advanced to the NCAA Quarterfinals in 1997, and were national runner-ups in 1988.
Schneider still ranks among the top coaches in NCAA women's basketball history. He stands 26th in total victories, 38th in winning percentage, and 5th among all Division II coaches with 19 seasons holding 20 or more wins.
