Canyon High 2023 Track Team
The 2023 Lady Eagles track team, led by Coach Ray Baca, finished out the year with their second consecutive Class 4A state championship. Canyon finished with 80 points, easily more than the 48 and 46 points of second place Paris and third place Royals.
Canyon showed balance with heavy scoring in distance and middle distance events, 1600 relay, 300 hurdles, pole vault, and discus. The Lady Eagles were the only area team to win a state title.
Canyon athletes always seem to perform at their best on the big stage. Baca and the Lady Eagles ended the 4A Regional meet with 135 points, 58 more than runner-up Randall.
