Casey Weiss - Amarillo

Why Honored: Weiss is known as one of the greatest amateur golfers to ever come out of Amarillo. In 2017, Weiss finished runner up in the Tall Tower, losing by one stroke. Weiss won the Miller Lite Invitational by two strokes, shooting rounds of 66, 64, and 68. Teaming up with Jarrett Johnston, the pair won the Whing Ding by seven strokes, shooting 63, 67, and 65. Weiss then went on to win the Tascosa Country Club Championship by nine strokes with scores of 65, 67, 68, and 70. To round out his incredible year, Weiss went on to win the biggest tournament of the summer, the Tournament of Champions, by ten strokes.

Quotable: "Being chosen as the PSHOF golfer of the year is a tremendous honor. I look back at the history of who has won the award and to see Ryan Palmer, Tom Doughtie, and Kyle Kelting among all the other tremendous golfers on the list, it truly is an honor to be able to see my name on the same list as them and it speaks volumes about the quality of Amarillo golf."
