Why Honored: Maurer and his team swept the competition at the Class 2A state championships after claiming titles at the district, area, and regional levels. The Pantherettes claimed the title with 74 points, 28 more than the second place team from Haskell. This big win is the first team track and field state title in school history. Individual titles were also claimed in the 400 meters, 400 relay, and 1600 relay. The team set a 2A state record in the 1600 relay.
