Donny Anderson - Stinnett & Texas Tech
Why Honored: Donny Anderson of Stinnett was key in Tech’s transition into the storied Southwest Conference. After appearing on the cover of Texas Football magazine, Anderson and Tech football earned the respect of the state.
In a 1965 contest against Oklahoma State, Anderson had 91 yards receiving, 44 rushing, 37 returning punts, and 169 returning kickoffs for 341 total in a 17-14 Tech win. Until 2003, he held the Red Raider record for all-purpose yards with 5,156 in his three years.
Following his successful college career, Anderson played for many years in the NFL.
