He earned all-state and first team all-district as an outfielder during his senior and junior seasons.
He was voted the Amarillo Globe-News Super Team Player of the Year during his junior season, the 2010 Happy State Bank Baseball Player of the Year, and the 2009 Texas Rangers Area Code Team.
Kjerstad continued his career, playing professional baseball.
