Dustin Vaughan - West Texas A&M University

Why Honored: Vaughan finished a historic career at WT in 2013. That year he had a runner-up finish in the voting for the Harlon Hill Trophy, which honors the top player in NCAA Division II college football.

Vaughan broke the NCAA Division II single-season record for passing yards with 5,401 and set new WT and Lone Star Conference records in career passing yards with 13,525, total offensive yards with 13,608, and passing touchdowns with 123.

Vaughan led the Buffs to an 11-3 record and an appearance at the NCAA Division II national quarterfinals.

He was named a National Football Foundation National Scholar-Athlete, the Beyond Sports Network Offensive Player of the Year, the Dave Campbell's Texas Football Small-school College Player of the Year, and he made the 2013 American Football Coaches Association Division II Coaches' All-America Team and Daktroniks All-America Team.

Quotable: "I think the coolest part is that the community and the people who watched you play throughout your career in college, that's kind of where that award is coming from, and I think that's what was cool for me was just to be named that by people who have been alongside. The Harlon Hill Trophy is from the sports information directors and all that kind of stuff, and they may have seen you play, ever, and so it's cool to be named that from the people in the community that you played for."
