Emily Brister Cooper - West Texas A&M University
Why Honored: Brister was the only player in Lady Buff history to be named a four-time Division II All-American. She still holds 13 WT basketball records, most notably career scoring (2,645 points) and career scoring average per game (21.5).
At WT, she played for Bob Schneider, then Krista Gerlich. The 5’9” guard was a prolific scorer and was tenacious on defense; she averaged 3.4 steals a game in her four years at WT and holds the career steal record at 406. Brister was the Lone Star Conference Female Athlete of the Year four times. She led WT to four LSC South Division titles and three LSC championships.
