E.J. "Jeep" Webb

E.J. “Jeep” Webb quit school at West Texas State, but he returned after a cold winter on the tractor. Coach Frank Kimbrough let him back on the football team. Webb later earned back his scholarship.

Webb launched a 45-year coaching career that covered football, girls and boys basketball, track, and cross-country. Webb was instrumental in introducing girls sports in Canyon and Borger. He became the athletic director at Canyon and started the girls basketball program in the early 1960s.

At Borger, Webb started girls basketball, track, and cross country, and coached all three at various times. His Borger girls cross country teams finished as the state runners-up in 1991 and 1992.

In 2011, Webb was inducted into the Texas Girls Coaches Association Hall of Fame in Austin.
 He retired in 1997.
