Emily lusk - tennis athlete of the year 2012

Emily Lusk - Canadian

Why Honored: Lusk ended her high school career with a second place finish at the 2012 Class 1A Texas High School State Tennis Tournament. She also earned a silver medal in singles her sophomore year.

Lusk was the first tennis athlete from Canadian to win four straight district championships, four straight regional championships, and qualify for state four consecutive times.

Lusk now attends West Texas A&M University.

Quotable: "I thought I was done with everything from high school. So it's really cool to get one last award. When I look back on my career what I will remember most is mainly just getting to play with who I did (close friends) and for who I did (Coach Fletcher). It's really cool that he is being honored as coach of the year."
