Why Honored: Sims played two seasons with the Buffs. During his junior season, Sims was recognized as the Lone Star Conference Co-Defensive Lineman of the Year. He started all 13 games and registered 56 tackles and 10 sacks.

His senior season, Sims was the Buffs leading tackler with 56 recorded tackles. He also had a team high 13.5 tackles for losses and 7 sacks. He was honored as the Lone Star Conference Defensive Lineman of the Year for a second season, as well as being a First-team All-LSC South Division selection. 

Sims continued his football career when he was drafted in the 6th round of the 2010 NFL draft by the St. Louis Rams.
