Jaime Carrillo - Palo Duro High

Why Honored: Carrillo had an extremely successful sophomore season with Palo Duro. In 2021, he put up stats including 39 goals and 15 assists. Carrillo was named the District 3-5A Boys MVP. His standout sophomore season followed a great freshman season that included 41 goals and Newcomer of the Year honors. Carrillo is ranked in the top 5 in the state of Texas in regards to total goals scored and total assists. 

2022 was another successful season for the now Junior at Palo Duro high. Carrillo was named the Amarillo Globe News Boys Soccer Player of the Year for the second consecutive year. This was due largely in part to his amazing performance during district play. Facing off against Amarillo High in the first round of district play, the Dons were tied with the Sandies 2-2 before Carrillo netted a goal off an assist from Adrian Ruiz at the 65-minute mark. He also recorded an assist that game and played a crucial role in the Dons victory.
