Why Honored: Swigart was a driving force behind the Cougars successful 1996 season. He helped lead the team to a 15-3 record and appearance at the Regional Finals.
Personally, Swigart ended the season with a pitching record of 10-1. He struck out 123 batters and walked 24 within his 74 innings pitched. He also hit .411 with 21 RBIs and 19 stolen bases.
Swigart was selected to the All-District and All-State teams. He was also honored as MVP at Regionals. Swigart signed to continue his baseball career at Frank Phillips.
