Junior Coffey - Dimmitt
Why Honored: Junior Coffey played for Dimmit almost 10 years before the UIL was fully integrated.
Coffey was a two-time all-state athlete in football and basketball. At 6 feet and 195 pounds, he twice led the Bobcats to the state finals. As a senior in 1961, Coffey was the only unanimous selection to the Class 2A state tournament team.
Coffey continued his career through college and eventually playing professionally.
