JERRY SISEMORE - INDUCTEE #90

In addition to football, Jerry Sisemore - who was recruited out of the band hall his seventh grade year - was a standout basketball player in high school, playing several games with a special, leather-covered cast on his broken left arm. He also finished seventh in the state shot put as a senior.

Jerry Sisemore

Jerry Sisemore was a three-year letterman and second-all-state offensive lineman at Plainview High School.

Sisemore, 6-4 and 275 pounds, helped the Bulldogs compile a 16-11-3 record. In 1999, he was chosen to the Plainview Daily Herald’s All-Time Plainview High School Team as both an offensive and a defensive player.

Sisemore went on to the University of Texas where he played in in the Senior Bowl in Mobile, Alabama, the Coaches All-American Game in Lubbock, and the College All-Star Game in Chicago.

He was a two-time All-American offensive tackle and three-time All-Southwest Conference selection. Texas was 28-5 with three SWC titles and played in three Cotton Bowls during his three varsity seasons in Austin. Sisemore was a consensus All-American in 1971 and 1972.

He started for 12 seasons in the offensive line for the Philadelphia Eagles, earned All-Pro honors twice, and played in several Pro Bowls as well as the 1980 Super Bowl.

Sisemore retired after the 1984 season.
