Katie Grimes - track and field athlete of the year 2008
Katie Grimes - Canyon
Why Honored: Grimes is one of the best track athletes to come out of Canyon High School. She was a member of the 2008 3A State Champion track and field team and the mile relay state champion team.
Grimes herself is a two-time state champion in the 300m hurdles, winning in 2007 and 2008. She also holds a state title in the 100m hurdles in 2008. Grimes was all-state in 2007, 2008, and 2009.
Grimes continued her track and field career at Texas Tech.
