KIM HUDSON - VOLLEYBALL COACH OF THE YEAR 1986, 1987, 1990

Kim Hudson - Amarillo High and West Texas State

Why Honored: Hudson returned to Amarillo High as the school’s volleyball coach. She guided the Sandies to a 35-2 record and the state finals in 1986.

She later moved to West Texas State University where her teams won 127 of 152 matches from 1987-1990. Her teams had two Lone Star Conference championships. In 1990, the Lady Buffs had a school best 38-1 and won the school’s first NCAA Division II championship.

Hudson spent stints at Northern Arizona University and the University of South Carolina, turning around their programs and records. 

Hudson was named the American
 Volleyball Coaches Association Division II Coach of the Year.
