Why Honored: Makeever is the head cross country coach of Nazareth High School. She led the Swiftettes to a 1A State Championship during the 2017-2018 cross country season.
Quotable: "The good thing about this team is we always had four or five right there together all year. That helped us all season. But going into state we were behind Miller Grove big time after running against them in Lubbock. They had beaten us and we knew we had to chase them down. Our goal at state was to chase down a Miller Grove runner and if you didn't see one of them, chase down a teammate. It worked for us and that was pretty awesome to see the way the girls went for it."
