Why Honored: Harkins was a member of the 1963 Tascosa Rebels football team, which is arguably one of the best teams to ever come out of Tascosa High.
Harkins was consistently making big plays, throwing successful pass after pass. That season, the Harkins and the Rebels went 10-1-2 advancing as far as the state semifinals before losing to the eventual state championship.
