Rajiv Saralaya - Amarillo High
Why Honored: During the 2016-2017 school year, Saralaya posted a 76-2 record playing doubles and singles. He won the district 3-5A and Region I-5A titles last spring and advanced to the Class 5A state semifinals.
In the fall, Saralaya helped reach school history when the AHS team placed second at the UIL 5A state team meet. His record was 41-2, going 20-0 in boys singles and 21-2 in boys doubles.
In 2018, Saralaya ended the year with a record of 67-5. In the spring, he brought home a state title in boys 5A singles, becoming the first tennis state champion to come out of Amarillo High.
Saralaya is now continuing his tennis career at Georgetown University.
