Why Honored: Lightfoot was an accomplished runner at Plainview High School. He set or tied for six national prep records in hurdles.
Lightfoot was the 1971 National High School Prep Champion in the 120 yard high hurdles. The following year, he was the National Juniors Champion in the 110 meter high hurdles.
Lightfoot continued his career at Wayland Baptist University.
