Why Honored: Rosemary Thompson was the top female golfer in the Texas Panhandle region in the 1970s. She was recognized as Golfer of the Year on the cover of Arizona Golf magazine in 1990.
Thompson loved golf from the first time she picked up a club at age 7 all the way through her 200 championships and 12 holes-in-one. She has a 6-handicap. Her biggest thrill was winning the National Seniors in Tucson in 1992 at age 50, with a record 220.
