Why Honored: Lombard took over the Lady Eagles basketball program from his father, the legendary Joe Lombard, and made a big splash in his first year. Lombard led his team to a 32-1 season that concluded with the Lady Eagles taking home a Class 4A State Championship title.
Lombard and his team were dominant in the playoffs, earning a win over previously undefeated Levelland. The team defeated Sour Lake Hardin-Jefferson in the state championship matchup 56-55 after outscoring them 8-3 in the final minutes of the game. This title is Lombard's third overall, with the other two coming from his time as head coach at Wall.
