Why Honored: Ansley is one of the best players to come out of Plainview High School. His senior year, he was named the District 3-5A Player of the Year, Gatorade Texas Player of the Year, Gatorade Southwest Region Player of the Year, and the Amarillo Globe News Player of the Year.
Playing in the outfield, Ansley was drafted in the 1st round of the 1988 Amateur Entry Draft by the Houston Astros.
Ansley went on to spend over 5 years playing baseball professionally.
