Why Honored: Pate had a successful tennis career at Texas A&M. She was the Southwest Conference Champion in 1995 with her doubles partner, Nancy Dingwall.
In 1996, she was selected as the ITA Southwest Region Senior of the Year. She was also named to the All-Southwest Conference Team for doubles play in 1994, 1995. and 1996.
Pate still holds the number 7 spot in Aggie record books for career win percentage in doubles play with .724.
