Camryn Armes - Gruver High School
Why Honored: Armes is a member of the Gruver High Girls Basketball team and has played a critical role to their success in recent years. During the teams playoff run in 2020, where Armes earned 2A State MVP honors, Armes began to feel constant pain and could not move side to side or fast enough. She later discovered she was born with hip dysplasia and would need surgery.
Support from her teammates and community helped Armes eventually get back on the court. The now senior captain worked her way back after being on the bench as she healed and helped lead her team to a UIL 2A State Championship title in the 2022 season.
