Why Honored: Kent spent a combined 27 years coaching for West Texas A&M University and Texas A&M University. Over those years, Kent earned an overall record of 516-223. This was, at the time, the ninth best in Division I history.
Kent led the Buffs to 6 Missouri Valley Conference titles and the Aggies to the 1994 Southwest Conference championship and the NCAA Sweet 16 in 1984 and 1994.
