proof of eligibility

NOTICE TO ALL PARENTS/GUARDIANS: At any time prior to, or during the season, Kids, Incorporated may request proof of eligibility (grade and/or age) for any participant.

Also, a parent/guardian must list the school where the child currently attends, not where they "prefer" to play. Our teams are formed based upon where children attend school. Any deviation from this guideline must be approved by the Director of Programs.

It is imperative that we maintain credibility in our sports programs. Please make sure you register for the proper grade level or age group, depending on the criteria for each particular sport.

If the sport is grouped by grade level, your child must be enrolled in the grade listed for that particular sports season. We do allow individuals to "play up" one grade level as long as the sport involved allows for your child's grade level. Please note there are some restrictions listed in the examples below. We do not allow a child to "play down" a grade level.

Examples of Eligibility for various sports

Volleyball Example

Our volleyball program is available for grades 2-8. If a parent has a child in the 2nd grade and they want their child to play on a 3rd grade team, that is allowed.

However, if a parent has a child in the 1st grade, that child is not eligible to play volleyball, and therefore could not play on a 2nd grade team.

We also offer a combined division in volleyball for 7th and 8th graders. Only students enrolled in the 7th or 8th grade are eligible to participate in this league. In other words, a 6th grader may not "play up" in this division.

Track Example

Our track program is available for grades Pre-K through 6th grade. Our Pre-K through 4th grade divisions run on a 220-yard track. Our 5th and 6th grade divisions run on a 400-meter track.

If a parent has a child in the 2nd grade and they want their child to play on a 3rd grade team, that is allowed.

However, if a parent has a child in the 4th grade, that child is not eligible to run with the 5th grade division.

Basketball Example

Our regular basketball program (not club basketball) is available for grades Kindergarten through 8th grade. If a parent has a child in the 2nd grade and they want their child to play on a 3rd grade team, that is allowed.

However, if a parent has a child in Pre-Kindergarten, that child is not eligible to play basketball, and therefore could not play on a Kindergarten team.

We also offer a combined division in basketball for 7th and 8th graders. Only students enrolled in the 7th or 8th grade are eligible to participate in this league. In other words, a 6th grader may not "play up" in this division.

Tackle Football Example

Our tackle football program is available for grades 4-6. If a parent has a child in the 4th grade and they want their child to play on a 5th grade team, that is allowed.

However, if a parent has a child in the 3rd grade, that child is not eligible to play tackle football, and therefore could not play on a 4th grade team.

Tackle Football Age Restrictions

A student enrolled in the fourth grade will play in the fourth grade league. Students enrolled in the third grade are not eligible in our tackle football program. A parent may choose to allow their fourth grade student to play up one grade level, in the fifth grade league, if so desired.

A student enrolled in the fifth grade will play in the fifth grade league. Students enrolled in the fifth grade may not play in the fourth grade league. A parent may choose to allow their fifth grade student to play up one grade level, in the sixth grade league, if so desired.

A student in the sixth grade must play in the sixth grade league. Any student who turns 13 years of age, on or before November 1 of the current school year, will be deemed ineligible for our tackle football program.
