Koby Otto - Palo Duro & Amarillo High
Why Honored: Otto led the Sandies to the schools' first ever trip to the UIL Class 5A state team tennis tournament. After claiming district, regionals, and the state semi-finals, Amarillo held a record of 25-2. The Sandies ultimately lost in the finals, but the second place finish was the best in school history.
2022 was another good one for Otto and the Sandies. He led his team to another appearance at the UIL Class 5A state team tennis tournament. They returned to the Panhandle with three state champions, bringing home gold in boys doubles and girls singles.
Otto and his Sandies found success once again in the 2023 season. They returned to the state tournament and Otto led his team to two state titles, one in girls doubles and one in boys doubles, as well as a runner-up finish.
