Zada Swoopes - track and field athlete of the year 2021

Why Honored: Swoopes has cemented her place as one of the best athletes to come through the WTAMU track program. 2021 was a very successful year for her as she took home the NCAA Division II National Championship title in the women's shot put during the indoor season.
The outdoor season found Swoopes competing on the national level once again. This time, she brought home the national title in women's discus. Overall, Swoopes is a four-time national champion.
Swoopes received DII Women's Field Athlete of the Year honors from the Lone Star Conference and the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.
